Samsung…Is The [Expletive] That Had Rihanna’s Money?

Samsung, the South Korean electronics giant that’s slowly but surely made significant gains on Apple in recent years in terms of sales & popularity, has brought on global superstar, Rihanna, to promote its new line of Galaxy devices. In exchange Samsung will sponsor the singer’s forthcoming studio album, Anti, in a deal reportedly worth $25M. Read on for more details inside.

As part of the agreement Rihanna will promote Galaxy products, while Samsung will sponsor the singer’s upcoming album & supporting tour, along with retaining rights to exclusive Anti video content via Samsung’s radio service, Milk Music. Rihanna’s Samsung partnership comes on the heels of recent deals with PUMA, Christian Dior & lifestyle sockwear company, STANCE.

Rihanna’s $25M deal goes on to trump that of Roc Nation boss, Jay-Z, who in 2013 entered a similar agreement with Samsung for $5M whereby Magna Carta, the rapper’s 12th studio album was pre-loaded onto devices, certifying it a platinum seller well before its official July release.

Over all Rihanna’s Samsung partnership signifies a release date is nearing for the artist’s highly anticipated LP, Anti, much to our the Navy’s delight. The 27-year old is also scheduled to perform this year’s Victoria’s Secret fashion show airing on CBS, Nov. 30. Here’s to getting Anti, before then.
